SATORI,
CHELSEA MARKET
11 / 06 / 2018
This space evokes the feeling of walking into the mountain monastery. The traditional features of Buddhist architecture are not highly emphasized; however, it exists, but in a more abstract and simplified form. The design was inspired by modern monasteries where minimalism best represents the Zen philosophy and Shojin Ryori traditions. Straight lines represent concentration and emptiness while curved lines symbolize Zen love to spontaneity.
